WASA (Westborough Athletic and Social Association) is the oldest service organization in their community.
As the provider of the largest scholarships for high school students, they were challenged for years in driving awareness and selection of the worthy students.
The approach was to have a multi-channel program to engage and encourage more students and families to apply.
The scholarship applicant count has grown consistently for over the last 5 years at a 3-4x multiple from where it was.

The selection process was historically all subjective. The solution was to formalize a criteria and assign a scoring system.
The criteria emerged to then drive the application and content collection and the scoring removed any disgruntled applicants. Sounds simple but breaking down the problems, designing a solution to scale and executing has allowed WASA to be transparent about the process which has resulted in a significant increase in donations/fundraising.
